This coming-of-age drama explores the challenges faced by a teenage boy as he grapples with the complexities of morality.
Peter DeAnello has been a driving force in the education and career-development of artists and industry professionals in Colorado for over 25 years.
His professional experience includes the sale of several screenplays and he has shared the stage & screen, and/or worked behind the camera, with such luminaries as: Timothy Busfield, James Cagney, Art Carney, Kathy Bates, Anthony Denison, Barbara Eden, Bruno Kirby, Dan Lauria, Nia Long, Wendie Mallick, Chazz Palminteri, Penny Marshall, Danny DeVito, Chris Cooper, AnnaSophia Robb, Christian Slater, Sharon Stone, Larenz Tate & Jay Thomas.
Peter has worked professionally in Regional Theatre and had numerous plays produced on stages in NY and LA. He is a graduate of the American Film Institute, in Los Angeles. His book, The Monologue from Mystery to Mastery is a text in many colleges, universities and secondary ed theatre and film departments around the US. Over the last 30 years his Write to Act Workshop has nurtured many professional industry careers in this and larger markets around the US.
Peter invited all of his current Write to Act Students to be a part of the production in some way. Those students became the driving force behind all the elements that made the production possible, including producing, handling all business and SAG requirements, location scouting, assisting the director & tech crew, performing various roles, overseeing costumes, acquiring set pieces and props – and, in even in the submission of the finished product to festivals. None of this would be possible without this team of exceptionally talented and driven artists and business minded professionals!
As the case with most independent productions, the prep and filming of When Angels Fear had its challenges. However, none of those challenges involved negative attitudes or ego clashes. This was, in fact, one of the most unifying and collectively gratifying experiences every artist dreams of having on the set of a film. Though we were all exhausted by the end of filming, the cast and crew agreed that we were all sad to see the production/set days come to an end. Close friendships and working relationships were forged and we all look forward to working together again on our next film/television project!
